The life of a garden

Every morning, early-when robins were still singing their wake-up song-the gardener walked out of her house and into her garden.
She didn't actually talk to the growing things, but she thought a kind of silent language when she touched a leaf or pulled a weed here and there.
The gardener loved her plants.

One day the gardener found a very odd and exciting thing.
Two wild garlic plants were hugging.
The gardener didn't help them twine around each other-they had done that themselves. She had almost considered plants to be her friends, but this was a new thought-could plants like each other?
The hugging garlic plants said, "Yes we do," in their tiny garlic plant voices.

My Indiana garden spoke to me too. I miss my frogs so much. I hear frogs here, singing from the creek that runs along the front of our mountain. I'm learning to adjust to this high desert with so many new things to see and think about.

I love your narrative that accompanies your photos. Might a book of musings/prose/poetry be in you? If you don’t feel like illustrating such a book, just get out your camera. You are as talented with that as you are with writing and painting.

Oh, how beautiful! All of it is so pretty, including the frog, the crow, and the bunny. Folks that don't garden just don't know what they are missing.

Debra dear what an amazing photo of those garlic plants twined together. Your hard n is absolutely lovely. It was fun to see your pink poppies blooming. Mine alas are done for the year. Will enjoy scattering the seed though. Take care - hugs!
