Flowers and so on...

My zinnias are over 5 feet tall. I have not grown them like this before. It was such a weird summer for weather, I don't know how they grew so tall. They cheer me every time we meet in my garden.

Above: kohlrabi. Tastes like a turnip.

It has been a time of changes. Some sorrowful and some glorious.
That is life, for us all.
You would think the simple seasons changing would show me that things don't stay the same.
God is still good. That will never change.

So-I have some new projects I want to show you in future posts. I am doing some simple embroidery and Shashiko stitching-even though it is my own version-and some knitting (the project might be a few years old, but it's getting there!) and of course more painting.
It will be lovely to slow down and fall into a new season with threads and needles and cloth.
Above: I absolutely adore my bees that make their nests in these bamboos. We made another one by drilling holes in a block of wood-no one has touched it. I guess it's scaring the bees.

Walk with me through the privet, and we can sit a spell on the rock wall.
Happy days to you all!

Happy Days to You, Debra!
It could be the bamboo has smoother sides than drilled wood holes. Will plastic straws set in the wood holes work?
Must be the weather, those heat waves. My zinnias, planted indoors from seed, are nearing 4 feet tall. I thought I bought normal foot or two zinnias. Plus, they're branching out.

Oh how I love that opening in the privet. That's our place where we can sit and share secrets with no worry that Sam will tell. I should like to sit a while longer and admire your handiwork with needle, thread and cloth. And, I have a few new ideas twirling around in my head to share with you. Oh, and I almost forgot to say how much I love your zinnias. I just collected lots of seeds from mine and have begun work on the garden room they'll be having for their very own in next year's garden.

Your garden is beautiful, love the flowers. Kohlrabi is delicious. We serve them here cut into small pieces with a creamy herb sauce and mashed potatoes, yummy! Hugs, Valerie

Your flowers are gorgeous! Several others have said that flowers this summer are bigger than earlier. Something climate changes could be the reason.
Your home made bee house is wonderful, love it!
Have a nice week ahead xx

Oh Debra I would love to walk through the privet and sit with you. Hope you are still enjoying those gorgeous zinnias. The last couple of years I have not planted them and I so love them in the veggie garden. Take care - Hugs!
