Flowers and things.

From my garden-a bucket of fleurs....

We went to an antique sale with lots of vendors. These things are just a few of the treasures I bought. The antique paisley is quite beat up, but it's still so beautiful. I will cut it. There are different views about doing this. I only cut very damaged antique fabrics.
The bird guide is from 1925. It cost me one dollar. Same for the dictionary. The bird book is beautiful with lots of paintings. The cover is leather I think.

This is some plain stitching I have done on this vintage wool jacket. I took the lining of the jacket out enough so I could do the stitching. I want to embroider some flowers and birds on it too. It's quite plain as it is now.

Have a great rest of the week!

Nice finds! The paisley is gorgeous.
Your flowers are perfect. The stitching is a great way to update a jacket.

There's so much to love about this post...like everything! The bird guide for a dollar! Wow, what a steal! And another wow on your bucket of flowers. I can imagine how much you are enjoying some plain stitching. It surely is giving the wool jacket a brand-new and classy look!

My friends give me lots of old clothes they no longer want. If I don't want to wear them, or they don't fit, which is most of the time, I have no qualms about cutting them apart for my art quilts. I think this will be beautiful and paisley never goes out of style.

I am SO in awe of your hand stitching. You are amazing. I have to use a machine, since I have no pinch grip to hold a needle. This jacket already looks amazing.

You got some amazing bargains and that bird book is unbelievable.

LOVE your bucket of flowers, too, dear Debra.
