Acrylic, Debra Smith , 2025
I realized the paintings I will do now will have a new year's date on them. The pile I have in my studio now were all done in December of 2025. It's funny how time is...
I have been cleaning out my studio and organizing it.
Now I'll have a hard time remembering where I put everything for a while.
Do you have the cleaning out bug right now?
Do you have any resolutions or ideas that you want to try for the next year?
I have resolved to keep the bright side of life more in focus.
I have let my vision get too clouded with the sad state of the world. I can see it happening in others' as well-there seems to be a not-so-niceness in people I think because everyone has so much on their minds.
I'm thankful that the Lord has shown me myself, and that He can help me get my JOY back again!
I don't want to be one of those down-lookers anymore.
Painting is one thing that has helped me-especially since it's such a huge surprise to me that I can paint again. I had gone through a long artist's block and was discouraged by that as well.
I feel God leading me in my painting. I have no idea what the outcome will be-
I am just doing the next thing.
Please tell me what's going on in your world.
I truly want to know!

I love your art. Yes, joy, laughter and kindness is so needed right now. Even though we are in a horrible situation we must care for ourselves and see the bright things in life. Cleaning your art space is perfect for next weeks Sunday in the art room. Linking is so easy. Click on the title of your blog post. Copy the URL by high lighting it and holding down CTrl plus the letter C this will copy the URl. Then come over to my blog post to Mr linky. Type in your name, then for the URL click on the space and hit Ctrl plus the letter V. Check the box to accept privacy and hit enter. I would love to see your art space and your art and so would others. If you ever need help just let me know. Hey, if I can do it you certainly can. LOL I want Sunday in the art room to be a place of happiness, of sharing, and of kindness. Art is one way to do that. I believe if one person shows joy to another it continues and what a better way to do that than to share art. I do hope you join in. Have the best day ever.
This is really good, Debra 😍 You are real artist; and I'm happy you continue to show it to us.
I make my kind of art, and don't try to make this demanding as you can. I would feel myself very lonely if I haven't my hobby to make some kind of art I can; so all is well ☺️
I'm wishing you Debra a very happy, creative Year 2026 🥰😘
Hi Debra,
The current world situation has me terrified and yes, painting helps the anxiety. So glad to share that with you.
I want to try some small watercolor pieces, maybe about 4x6”, quickly done since I’m eager to learn how be able to do that.
You have always been able to paint and I’m amazed you can switch gears between styles. Your landscapes are so artistic in that way. They have gone from Folk art to Impressionistic art. That means deep talent to me.
Keep them coming!
