Paint Party Friday

 Older paintings of mine.

I like to paint in a folky way, and also in a more realistic style. Sometimes this makes me feel a bit batty because the styles are so different. But they are both me.
I hope your weekend is good.
All the best to you!

I remember these. I was, and still am, in awe especially of the intersection of town landscape. It has so much perspective, and that makes it realistic. Then your Blue Jay painting reflects your folky style beautifully. You are lucky that you have two styles to choose from when you start a painting! Whatever suits your mood will feel good at that moment, thus be a successful painting!

I know what you're saying about having styles. I like folksy for it's representational and abstracted look. Somehow it captures more of a gesture sometimes than realistic. I tried to paint white flowers from Bastelmania's post today, and they are nice but... they do give me practice in "seeing". The folksy style gives you practice in abstracting strong lines.

Very nice. I like to think I'd recognize you(s) anywhere. :)
Painting in a primitive style, I've found, is very freeing, fun, and liberating from my self criticism. Thank you!

I can see you in both art pieces. My style changes as well and sometimes I paint something and think, "Did I just paint that?" LOL I think changing styles makes for a good artist. Hope you are having a good day.

Wonderful paintings. Not a bad thing to have more than one style - at least I don't think so considering my art:):) Happy PPF!

Your paintings are wonderful. I can't believe the detail in the first one. We all seek a comfort zone in our artwork and I think it is constantly changing as we progress along our journey. Be well and Happy PPF

Dear friend I just love both styles. You show such great detail in the first painting and yet your folksy blue Jay makes me smile. Hope you are having a blessed day. Hugs!

your first painting made me remember a few placed from my travels. Lots and lots of power lines all over the place. Thanks for the reminder :)
