I did a little weaving on a rock-the picture is fuzzy-I'll try another picture of it sometime. I'm in the middle of painting my kitchen-which has taken on a monumental size in the WORK department. Everything-dishes, canned goods, furniture-it's all in other rooms of the house or in totes-and it's making me nuts. We are having a new countertop put in sometime in a few weeks-it will be a grand thing in this old, crookedy kitchen of ours! I have Duck Tape on the edges of the current countertop-GOLD duck tape to boot-and it will be grand to see that old thing go to the dump. It's the only countertop I have in the kitchen-quite small, so we splurged on having a quartz one installed.
All of the wall corners, floors and window casings in this kitchen are running uphill or down, and there isn't a square corner to be found. We just have to pat the houses' little head and say, "Awww, you poor old thing!" And just do the best we can with what we have. I'm hoping I can think of creative ways to make it look ok....
I'll have some before and after pics I hope.
My garden and our yard are begging for attention too.

Oh I know the feeling... we had a piece of plumbing shear off while sleeping and main floor and basement were all flooded in November. We are still working on the pieces and eager to put everything back in its place...I did till our garden last week as soon as the snow was melted and ground thawed just before weeds began and now after a week of intense beautiful rains we await the sun to take away the puddles so we can plant. Here in the North of Canada our garden looks behind yours by far. Weaving on rocks~ such a lovely thing; I gather up agates and smooth stones to paint from our driveway each time I walk to my daughter's home on our farm. we have goat kids leaping and grands giggling and playing in the mud and finding the first green grass to run on after a long winter. I can surely relate to things needing attention. We don’t do those things until it’s really needed in our home. And when it’s done it has an kind of fantastic feeling. Ahhhh, the unsettling work of house renovations! It’s not fun, but necessary sometimes and such a joy when done. I love your woven rock, and your sky is amazing! You must have those patterns frequently with airplane flight paths. Great photos!
Does everything beg for attention at once? It often feels like it around here. I love the rock weaving! I did one a few years ago and still use it as a paperweight--because it still makes me happy! I also did a bunch of weaving in forked twigs that were fun. Can't wait to see how you use your own touches in the kitchen makeover!
Dear Debra - like you I hate tearing things up but when they are finished it is worth it. Sounds like your counter top is going to be wonderful. I am overdo for a makeover in the kitchen as well. We are hoping to put down a new floor sometime this month. Take care and enjoy digging in the garden. Hugs!
