Wow, this is a big one, and the bird Carrie’s it off perfectly filling up the canvas. I like his feet too, also the way his upper legs are shaded by his body. The white background feels snowy and cold, but dill and the red circle feel warm. Letting my I agion roam around. I hope you had fun doing this one Debra, it belongs on your wall. 🤗

The bird looks strong, and I like the colors that you used. There is something exciting in your great painting, Debra 👍
You have an unique style 👏

I came back to look again, to correct the errors in my first comment, and to share an additional thought.
In the first line of my first comment I meant “carry’s” it off. In the third line it should read “imagination” roam around.
My additional thought about Folk Art is I remember when I came to love this style in art classes many years ago. One of my professors was explaining why it is so appealing. What he said made complete sense to me. His observation was that Folk Art appeals especially because it perfectly illustrates how “LESS IS MORE”. 🥰

You nailed this one Debra! I love those feet, too! And those touches of red are wonderful! Another great element is that it appears something is going on underneath this painting. Yes, this one does belong on your wall, dear artist friend!

I thought I had left a comment the other day, but I must have backed out (or checked out another post) before pressing "publish". Love the painting, Debra. Your black bird reminds me of some giant ones we've had recently visiting our bird feeders. Only yours is kind of whimsical while ours is kind of frightening.
