Roses in November!

Oh lovely rose-and it smells so good! It's a David Austin, called 'Evelyn.' It is a repeat bloomer. Must be pruned to get it to keep blooming. It has been hardy in our winters here in the Finger Lakes. The true color of this rose doesn't show in the computer monitor. It's a beautiful pink-a light pink. If I remember right, the company Crabtree and Evelyn made a perfume after the scent of this rose. The company is out of business now.
We have had lots of 70 degree weather but it's going to freeze tonight and we're headed for 50's and 60's weather-which is perfect. I'm not ready for snow yet!

Gorgeous fancy rose!
Evelyn and Crabtree, I remember them, beautiful name.
I am ready for cold weather.
I don't want winter delaying spring.

Oh how beautiful! I'll take a rose in any month, but November would be the best! I like Salty Pumpkin Studio's comment about not wanting winter to delay spring, so yes, bring on the snow if that's what it takes. :~/ How much snow do the Finger Lakes get during winter? I would guess a lot.

Hi Debra,
You got it, It's Julia.. Thanks so much. This has been fun.

Oh my, Evelyn is one of my favorite David Austin Roses, unfortunately, that one I do not have. I bet it smells heavenly!

The rose is beautiful... She won't like the frost, so let's hope that the beautiful weather will last a little longer.
The roses and dahlias in my garden are still blooming until the first frost sets in - but so far things are looking good. We haven't had a so wonderful autumn in a long time.
Many greetings to you.

Debra what a simply fantastic rose. Your mention of Crabtree and Evelyn reminded me that my mom on occasion would buy me a lovely gift from that company. Sounds like your November has been like ours...warm and sunny. I still am gathering green peppers from the garden and my cosmos continue to bloom. Hate to see it go. We too are being told it will get cold for the weekend. Well take care friend. (I will write you soon). Hugs!
