A little project

I'm starting a folk doll and her goose. The underpinnings are made of tin foil with masking tape holding it and a small yogurt cup as the base for the girl. The goose is all foil wrapped in tape. The tape holds the overlapping foil together. I can cover it with paperclay or layers of fabric. I don't have good luck with papier mache. It gets moldy-not sure what I do wrong with that.
The girl stands about 8 inches high.

They look lovely together. I look forward to seeing what they will wear.
Air circulation is key to paper mache drying. I leave mine on the dinning table where there's lots of moving air and sunlight.

This is beautiful already, Debra. I look forward to seeing how she and her goose develop.

One of the reasons papier mache goes moldy MAY be because you are using tap or even filtered water. You really need to use distilled water if you want to keep the mold away.

I just read your comment. Both cats are very good and neither has ever bothered my plants. Bleubeard likes to rub against the catnip, but Squiggles can't stand it. They don't climb, either, so I never have to worry about them getting on my tables or other furniture.
